Loadsbyjake.com is owned and operated by a friend of mine, Jake Musser, who requested a shot of one their most challenging loads: 115 foot utility poles. Finding a location to fit this massive truck load isn’t easy, and the manuevering of the load takes skill performed by the driver. As he pulled into the parking lot off the interstate the poles creaked and cracked while the length of the truck seemed to go on forever.
The way these poles are hooked up is what I find most impressive. The trailer itself is detached from the truck with extensions attached for the air and electrical lines. Then the truck pulls ahead to the desired length and then the poles are loaded on with a tractor loader. All the poles are chained and strapped down several times but effectively become the frame of the entire truck bed! Its amazing it all holds together! Have no fear though, these loads are highly inspected before they the road and completely safe with a pilot car directly behind with plenty flashing lights to keep traffic aware of this “oversized load.”
